One.) For Woody
(inspired by Woody Guthrie's words as shared by his daughter, Nora)
Vocal: D.C. Anderson
Lyrics and Music: D.C. Anderson
Davecamson Music ASCAP
Guitar and Harmonica: Luke Wygodny

Why do I sing of the trouble
Why do I sing of the pain
Why do I sing into tired eyes
Livin' off the plain
Why do I sit with the heartache
Why do I sing its tale
Why do I call to the captive
When he hollers from the jail
We're all in this together
Dividers get it wrong
All in this together
Writing the people's song
We can praise our country all we like
While forgettin' the man drives the railroad spike
We can talk all day 'bout our purty parts
But I'll be singin' for the fixin' of the dirty parts
Why do I call to the greedy
Looking down on those in need
Redefine what you're callin' mine
And the meaning of 'succeed'.
We love the idea of our country
When words and melody ring
Looks like today, we ain't livin' that way
Might be needin' a new song to sing
We're all in this together
Dividers get it wrong
All in this together
Writing the people's song
We can praise this country up and down
While pretendin' we are better than than the new to town
We can talk all day 'bout our purty parts
But I'll be singin' for the fixin' of the dirty parts
Just singin' for the fixin' of the dirty parts
We're all in this together
Dividers get it wrong
All in this together
Writing the people's song

Two.) Be Thou Our Vision
Vocal: D.C. Anderson
Lyrics: D.C. Anderson with reference to the Gaelic Poem "Rop tú mo Baile," attributed to Saint Dallán Forgaill
Davecamson Music (ASCAP)
Music: Traditional Irish ('Slane')
Vocal: D.C. Anderson

(Spoken) In my church we spell God - G O P
Our opening hymn this morning
Is free from harmony
Just a melody that soars
From our windows and doors
To His servants in the Senate and our homeboys on House floors.

(Sung)
Be Thou my vision
O Lord of my heart
Bless ICE when tearing a fam'ly apart
Grandpa from Grandma
And father from son
Torn from their dwelling
By a goon with a gun

Be thou my wisdom
And this thy true word
School lunch for poor kids
It's truly absurd
Suffer the little children
Our Savior hath said
Waking or sleeping
Or gunned down instead

Riches, I need not, so cut Bezos tax
Food, I afford not, thank Trump to the max
Thou and Thou only, well, Zuckerberg too
Praise be to SCOTUS for their help with the coup

Health care is welfare
It's truly a sin
Jesus would never let healing begin
Homes for the homeless incentivize sloth
Clothing the poor offends men of the cloth

Be Thou my compass
O Lord of my soul
Adam was made to keep Eve in control
Woman was made to make babies and knit
Older cat ladies can just babysit

High King of Heaven
Creator of all
Look what we've done to your
Hole in the wall
Earth, air and water are ours to bespoil
Father, the Son and Execs from Big Oil

Be Thou our vision
Our gospel our deeds
Free us from caring for our neighbor's needs
Seat us alongside your long vacant throne
God, our creation, in our service, our own!

Three.) In Case I'm Disappeared
Vocal: D.C. Anderson
Guitar: Gantt Kushner
Lyrics and Music: D.C. Anderson
Davecamson Music (ASCAP)

In case I'm disappeared
I want my countrymen to know
though this month's cruelty breaks my heart
I believe that we can grow
to be a people self aware enough
to fix what has gone wrong
Face the things that frighten us
Ensure we all belong
We've always had our diff'rences
I'm sure we always will
I hope we can agree that
Being loving is a skill
Patience makes good company
Persistence plays a part
Forgiveness is the fastest way to
open any heart

The act of disappearing those
who seek love's justice now
Is beyond what I had thought
my country ever would allow
We fought a war to stop the rise of
what we've now embraced
My heart goes out to all whose pain we've caused but never faced.

Children of America
the future's in your hands
I beg you to deliver
that which decency demands
Promise me you'll nurture all
that's good upon this earth
Promise you'll be fair and
feed Democracy's rebirth
Promise you'll have patience
with humanity's unkind
Build with them a bridge connecting heart to narrowed mind
Above all keep love's language
At the ready on your tongue
Speak it to the living from the
old to very young.

Four.)Twenty Twenty Six
Vocal: D.C. Anderson
Guitar: Luke Wygodny
Lyrics: D.C. Anderson
Davecamson Music (ASCAP)
Music: Luke Wygodny
Luke Aaron Wygodny (ASCAP)

In terror and with urgency
Love grabbed ahold of me in tears heart shattering tears
I'm twenty twenty six
Mired in politics
Overwhelmed by shameless tricks
"Why", love cried, "does fear transfix?"

Love told me, "I'm no game
You and I, we're the same
But you're preoccupied with blame
To remind you is why I came."

I've gotta honor love's request
This love that serves the dispossesed
That only rests when peace is flourishing
I've gotta honor love's request

We've ev'ry child to love, protect
We've ev'ry heart to reconnect
With ev'ry empath we elect
We gain in trust and self respect

The future of the human race
Requires we reckon face to face
To set aside our hurt, our rage
To harness hope and turn the page

I stand before you, all ahead
To soldier on through doubt and dread
With truth and courage we will be led
To put autocracy to bed

With faith in solidarity
Love made it's journey home to me
Love told me, "Twenty Twenty Six,
We must transcend the politics!"

Five.) What a Time to Be Alive in America
Vocal and piano: D.C. Anderson
Lyrics and Music: D.C. Anderson
Davecamson Music (ASCAP)

What a time to be alive in America
What a time to fall in love with her dreams
What a crime to watch her burn
To watch us willfully spurn
Compassion
Through deception and schemes

What a time to be alive in America
What a time to see her losing her way
Such that I'm so torn apart
I have to harden my heart
Indifference
just to get through the day

Place a hand into a hand
Into a hand into a hand
Form a circle but don't let it close
Place a hand into a hand
Into a hand into a hand
Until inclusion is what everyone knows

What a time to be alive in America
What a time to let her history speak
What a time to face the mirror
And admit now and here
When we love we are woke but not weak
What a time to be in love with America
